About me!
Hello, I’m Tasnim (Tas), a high school student in Lakewood Ranch, Florida!
For as long as I can remember, I was always fascinated by how other people think, live, and grow, and how different experiences shape them as a person. With research, I realized how commonly children my own age suffer through neurological disorders, even to the point of needing surgery. Once I realized how many people live with neurological disorders, I began to see it everywhere. From seeing adults with chronic migraines, having a classmate with epilepsy, to more severe or fatal disorders, I became more aware of these long-lasting conditions and wanted to learn more about rare neurodegenerative diseases.
One experience in particular—witnessing a medical emergency without knowing what simple stroke signs were—left a devastating outcome. Since then, I have been determined to raise neuroscience awareness. Degenerative diseases are usually inevitable, but taking steps to increase cognitive abilities and be aware of warning signs can potentially save lives and avoid complications.
Combining my passion for art with neuroscience, I plan to create illustrated books for children with information about how the brain works and grows, and how it can be strengthened. By understanding emotions, staying active, and discovering how the brain controls everyday life, young minds can develop habits that promote cognitive health. With the help of parents, teachers, and other caregivers, we can make the fundamentals of neuroscience education more widespread and accessible.
I created this website to share my works created for teens and children that may also captivate parents and guardians.
